Its not really about a waterproof dog bed being any better than a fabric dog bed, but when and what you need it for. You may even need both types. A fabric one for the bedroom or living room when your dog is clean and dry and a waterproof one for the kitchen, conservatory or a utility room when your dog comes back from a walk with muddy wet paws and a wet coat.
