Waterproof Dog Bed Guide

Why Buy A Waterproof Dog Bed Instead Of Any Other Type

Its not really about a waterproof dog bed being any better than a fabric dog bed, but when and what you need it for. You may even need both types. A fabric one for the bedroom or living room when your dog is clean and dry and a waterproof one for the kitchen, conservatory or a utility room when your dog comes back from a walk with muddy wet paws and a wet coat.

You may even like the fact that waterproof dog beds are very easy to keep clean and you may want to have all waterproof for your dogs. Its really for you to decide but a guide always helps  you to think of things you may not have thought of before.

The material used on waterproof dog beds is usually strong nylon with the option to remove the cover if you do want to clean it in a washing machine. Most waterproof beds can be cleaned using a garden hose or wiped with a damp cloth without having to remove the cover but its good to have the option.

Some waterproof dog beds are marketed for working dogs, but they can be used for any dog that gets wet and muddy after a fun walk.

If you’re going on holiday and taking your dog with you then another great use for the waterproof dog bed is that they make great travel beds. Your dog can lay on it during the journey in the boot or on the back seat and then you can take it into your accommodation to use.

In the Spring and Summer months they are brilliant as outdoor dog beds as the tough cover will not tear and dirt marks will not matter too much as the upkeep is not a problem. Also your dog will appreciate a soft place to sit while he’s waiting for that sausage off the barbecue!
