Pet bed guide

There are many styles of pet bed available and you want to make the right decision for your pets comfort before you make your purchase. The Cats and Canines pet bed guide will hopefully help you with this decision.

Dog Beds

Wicker dog baskets: From our experience of selling pet beds most dogs love to lay and sleep in a wicker basket. There are lots of different designs but our favourites are the English style dog basket with the easy step-in front and the wicker sofa pet bed for a touch of luxury. They look good in any part of the home but are particularly nice in a conservatory or kitchen. They could even brighten up your utility room. Wicker may not be suitable for puppies as they tend to chew on the wicker, however, a puppy kong that you can fill with food or treats will keep your puppy's mind off chewing its new bed. They are very easy to keep clean. Any stubborn dirt can be wiped away with a damp cloth and loose dirt and pet hairs can be vacuumed up.

Waterproof dog beds: These waterproof and easily washable dog beds are made from a tough, navy waterproof cover which can be hosed down when it gets muddy and dirty. The cover can also be placed in a washing machine if preferred. They are ideal anywhere in the home but most customers tend to use them by a door and even outside in the warmer months. The inner is a whole piece of fibre so it keeps its shape nicely.

Dog blanket: The good thing about having a dog blanket is that they are so versatile and easy to clean. You can place them in existing dog beds, use in the car and if your dog likes to sit on your sofa you can protect it with the blanket. Its a larger than usual pet blanket being 59" length x 39" width which can be folded for small dogs and is big enough for larger dogs.

Cat Beds

Cat radiator bed: Most cats like to sit on a windowsill and some will even lay directly on the radiator. A cat radiator bed is a snug alternative which can be hung directly over the radiator and has a sturdy hammock where you cat can sit. We have found the best quality radiator bed on the market is the Kumfy Kradle from Danish Design. The frame itself is very strong and the metal will not buckle or lose shape when your cat sits in it.

Cat cosy: Another cat bed from Danish Design is the cat cosy. Its a high sided cat bed with a really thick, comfy cushion where cats can sleep and rest in luxurious comfort. This is a really nice, luxury cat bed for the price and is made from good quality materials.

Wicker cat basket: Our wicker cat basket is made in a bunk bed style so you can have one cat sleeping at the top and another below. It comes with two cushions which are fully machine washable and the wicker itself is very easy to keep clean by simply using your vacuums attachment to clean away cat hair and any debris that may accumulate. This is an ideal pet basket for a multiple cat household.

Fleece cat bed: Whats good about this cat bed is the bolster surround. Its great for cats who like to curl up and can be placed anywhere in the home; on chairs, a windowsill and even the floor as it has a tough reinforced base.
