Cat Beds
When I had my cat his favourite cat bed was a small igloo bed that he would love to curl up in for a snooze. We understand that some cats will not use their brand new bed that you thoughtfully purchased for them and instead will happily sleep on your ironing pile or in the airing cupboard.
Each cat is different and getting them to use their new cat bed needs time and patience. If they refuse to get into the cat bed there are several things you can try. Place the bed halfway behind a curtain or anywhere that is out of the way but so your cat can still see whats going on. Then place some favourite cat toys or an old jumper (for example) that smells of you into the bed.
Every time your cat goes near the bed start to plump up the cushion or show interest in the bed yourself. With any luck your cat will take an interest in what you're doing and come over to investigate. If they don't come over, call him/her and give lots of praise and some high value treats like tuna or chicken. Don't put pressure on your cat. They are clever and once they realise its a good place to sleep it will become a favourite place.
